- 2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
- Fill the cupcake liners about 2/3 full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cupcakes cool completely before frosting.
- For the frosting, beat together the butter and powdered sugar until smooth, then add heavy cream and mix until fluffy. Divide into bowls and add food coloring as desired.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes with the pastel frosting.
Notes
- Make sure the butter is at room temperature for easier mixing.
- Feel free to mix different colors for a fun effect.
