Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the yeast mixture and salt to the butter mixture, then gradually add flour until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, then let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread almond paste evenly over the surface.
- Fold the dough into thirds, then shape it into a ring on a baking sheet.
- Brush the top with beaten egg and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let it cool, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

- Ensure the milk is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast.
- Almond paste can be found in most grocery stores or made at home.
