A classic apple pie recipe that combines sweet and tart apples with a flaky crust, perfect for any occasion.

- 6 cups of sliced apples (Granny Smith and Honeycrisp)
- 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 package of pie crusts (2 crusts)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss until apples are well coated.
- Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie pan.
- Fill the crust with the apple mixture and dot with butter.
- Cover with the second pie crust, sealing the edges and cutting slits for steam to escape.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
- Let the pie cool before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of vanilla extract to the apple mixture.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream for a delightful dessert.
