- 1 cup buttermilk

- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Soak the onion rings in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix together flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the onion rings from the buttermilk and dredge them in the flour mixture until well coated.
