Description

Sugar Plum Shortbread Cookies are a delightful festive treat, perfect for holiday gatherings and celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped dried plums (or prunes)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped dried plums.
  7. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
