Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Red and white food coloring
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for filling)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Mini chocolate chips (for eyes)
  • Red candy (for nose)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, sift together almond flour and powdered sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until foamy, then gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold the almond flour mixture into the egg whites gently.
  5. Divide the batter into two bowls, tint one red and leave the other white.
  6. Pipe Santa faces onto the prepared baking sheet using a round piping tip.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, then let cool completely.
  8. For the filling, beat softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  9. Pipe the filling onto the flat side of half the macarons and sandwich with the other half.
  10. Decorate with mini chocolate chips for eyes and red candy for the nose.

Notes

  • Ensure the egg whites are at room temperature for better volume.
  • Let the macarons rest for 30 minutes before baking to develop a skin.
