Description

Ruth’s Chris Creamed Corn Au Gratin is a rich and creamy side dish that combines sweet corn with a cheesy, decadent sauce, making it a perfect accompaniment to any meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh corn kernels
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream and milk, cooking until the mixture thickens.
  4. Add the cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper, stirring until the cheese is melted.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the corn kernels with the cheese sauce.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, increase the cayenne pepper.
  • Can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
  • Use fresh corn for the best flavor, but frozen corn can be substituted.
