A delicious ribeye steak topped with a rich garlic-thyme butter, perfect for a special dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ribeye steaks (1 inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
Instructions
- Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your grill or skillet over high heat.
- Rub the steaks with olive oil and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Cook the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
- While the steaks are cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and thyme to the melted butter and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Once the steaks are done, remove them from the heat and let them rest for 5 minutes.
- Drizzle the garlic-thyme butter over the steaks before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the steaks.
- Letting the steaks rest allows the juices to redistribute for a more flavorful bite.
- This dish pairs well with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.
