Description

A delightful and traditional Christmas marmalade that brings festive flavors to your table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of oranges, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup of lemons, peeled and chopped
  • 4 cups of water
  • 5 cups of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of chopped ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the chopped oranges, lemons, and water. Bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour, or until the fruit is soft.
  3. Add the sugar, ginger, and spices to the pot. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Increase the heat and bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Cook for about 20-30 minutes, or until it reaches the desired consistency.
  5. Test the marmalade by placing a spoonful on a cold plate; if it sets, it’s ready.
  6. Pour the hot marmalade into sterilized jars and seal immediately.

Notes

  • Ensure jars are sterilized to prevent spoilage.
  • Adjust the spices according to your taste preference.
  • This marmalade can be stored in a cool, dark place for up to a year.
