Description

A delightful and easy-to-make Margherita Focaccia Bread topped with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella, cubed
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Spread the dough onto a greased baking sheet, pressing it out to fit.
  7. Top with halved cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and fresh basil leaves.
  8. Season with salt and pepper.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
