- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup fresh mozzarella, cubed
- Fresh basil leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Spread the dough onto a greased baking sheet, pressing it out to fit.
- Top with halved cherry tomatoes, mozzarella, and fresh basil leaves.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a more intense flavor, add garlic or herbs to the dough.
- Serve warm for the best taste.
