Ground Beef Gorditas are a delicious and flavorful twist on traditional gorditas, filled with seasoned ground beef and topped with fresh ingredients.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup masa harina
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup chopped onions
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- Cooking oil for frying
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add salt, cumin, and chili powder to the beef, mixing well. Set aside.
- In a bowl, combine masa harina and warm water to form a dough.
- Divide the dough into small balls and flatten them into discs.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry each disc for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Fill each gordita with the seasoned ground beef and top with cheese, tomatoes, onions, and cilantro.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For a spicier version, add jalapeños to the filling.
- These can be made ahead and reheated in the oven.
- Serve with salsa or guacamole for extra flavor.
