Description

Ground Beef Gorditas are a delicious and flavorful twist on traditional gorditas, filled with seasoned ground beef and topped with fresh ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup masa harina
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Cooking oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add salt, cumin, and chili powder to the beef, mixing well. Set aside.
  3. In a bowl, combine masa harina and warm water to form a dough.
  4. Divide the dough into small balls and flatten them into discs.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Fry each disc for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Fill each gordita with the seasoned ground beef and top with cheese, tomatoes, onions, and cilantro.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add jalapeños to the filling.
  • These can be made ahead and reheated in the oven.
  • Serve with salsa or guacamole for extra flavor.
