Description

A delicious and aromatic bread infused with garlic, parmesan cheese, and a blend of herbs, perfect for any meal or as a snack.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add olive oil, minced garlic, and salt to the yeast mixture.
  3. Gradually add flour and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and knead in the parmesan cheese and herbs.
  7. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  8. Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a stronger garlic flavor, increase the amount of minced garlic.
  • This bread can be frozen for up to 3 months.
  • Serve warm with butter or as a side to pasta dishes.
