Description

A rich and creamy dark chocolate mousse tart infused with refreshing peppermint, perfect for dessert lovers.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 pre-baked tart shell
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the dark chocolate chips and butter together in a double boiler.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Combine the melted chocolate mixture with the egg mixture and add peppermint extract.
  5. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  6. Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until fully combined.
  7. Pour the mousse into the pre-baked tart shell and smooth the top.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until set.
  9. Garnish with chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes

  • For a stronger peppermint flavor, increase the peppermint extract to 1 1/2 teaspoons.
  • Ensure the tart shell is completely cooled before adding the mousse.
  • This tart can be made a day in advance for convenience.
