- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies
- Additional Oreo cookies for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the cakes are cooling, whip the heavy cream in a mixing bowl until soft peaks form.
- Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the whipped cream and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold in the crushed Oreo cookies into the whipped cream mixture.
- Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of the cookies and cream mixture on top.
- Place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides with the remaining cookies and cream mixture.
- Decorate with additional Oreo cookies on top.
- Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add chocolate ganache between the layers.
- This cake can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
- Feel free to use gluten-free cake mix for a gluten-free version.
