Description
Classic Stuffed Shells are large pasta shells filled with a delicious mixture of ricotta cheese, mozzarella, and herbs, baked in marinara sauce for a comforting and satisfying meal.

- 20 jumbo pasta shells
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Fill each cooked pasta shell with the cheese mixture.
- Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Place the stuffed shells in the baking dish and cover with the remaining marinara sauce.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, ensure the marinara sauce is meat-free.
- Feel free to add spinach or other vegetables to the cheese mixture for added nutrition.
- These can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
