Description

Cheesy Beef Hand Pies are a delightful snack filled with seasoned ground beef and melted cheese, all encased in a flaky pastry crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 package of pie crusts (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  4. Stir in salt, black pepper, and paprika. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. Roll out the pie crusts and cut them into circles.
  6. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture and a sprinkle of cheese on one half of each circle.
  7. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and seal the edges with a fork.
  8. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms to the beef mixture for extra flavor.
  • These hand pies can be frozen before baking for a quick snack later.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ketchup or ranch dressing.
