Description

A delicious dish featuring caramelised soy chicken served in a flavorful garlic ginger broth, accompanied by rice.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce and brown sugar until dissolved.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Add chicken thighs and cook until browned on both sides.
  4. Pour the soy sauce mixture over the chicken and let it caramelise.
  5. In a separate pot, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  6. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  7. Add rice to the broth and cook according to package instructions.
  8. Once the chicken is cooked through, serve it over the rice with the broth.
  9. Garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes.
  • Can substitute chicken thighs with chicken breasts if preferred.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of brown sugar.
