Description

Candy Cane Cookies are a festive holiday treat that combines the flavors of peppermint and vanilla in a delightful cookie form, perfect for sharing during the holiday season.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Red food coloring

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until combined.

  7. Roll out small pieces of each dough into ropes and twist them together to form a candy cane shape.
  8. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
